Vay Tiį»n Trįŗ£ Góp 24 ThĆ”ng. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is bringing back a classic Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare map. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 was the biggest game of 2022 and is doing its best to retain as many people as possible with its post-launch content. We've already gotten a bunch of new maps, cosmetic packs, modes, gameplay updates, and more over the last handful of months. There's really no shortage of content with the latest Call of Duty, even if some aren't happy with the quality of the overall game, there's a lot to do within today, Infinity Ward began detailing what season 4 of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 will look like. Of course, it's pretty standard with a couple of new maps, modes, and weapons along with general quality of life changes, but one of the new maps has fans pretty excited. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is adding Showdown, one of the most iconic maps from Call of Duty 4. The map sees players fighting in and around a building which has a giant statue in a courtyard at the center. It's also featured as a key location in the game's campaign when the game's antagonists stage a coup in an unnamed location and a fictional president controlled by the player is executed in the courtyard at the start of the game, kickstarting the events of the story. The new version of the map is already featured in Call of Duty Warzone 2's map, Al Mazrah, and naturally, you'll be able to do things like mantle and whatnot which wasn't a possibility in the original game. Infinity Ward has remade a handful of maps already, some of which are more subtle such as Pelayo's Lighthouse which is a reimagined version of Estate from the original Modern Warfare 2. It's likely we'll continue to see more remakes over the next year and possibly even in the heavily rumored Modern Warfare 3, which releases later this Call of Duty maps do you want to see remade? By on June 9, 2023 at 218PM PDT It looks like Activision officially severed ties with Nickmercs, one of Call of Duty's most prominent content creators. The company removed the operator bundle named after him from the Modern Warfare II and Warzone store after he made an anti-LGBTQ comment in response to a tweet about Pride Month Puckett, one of esports' most popular commentators, tweeted about the sad state of the country in response to news about anti-LGBTQ protestors attacking Pride supporters outside of a schoolboard meeting in Glendale, CA. The schoolboard was voting on recognizing June as Pride Month, which apparently some locals didn't agree should leave little children alone. Thatās the real issue. ā FaZe Nickmercs NICKMERCS June 7, 2023 "They should leave little children alone. Thatās the real issue," Nickmercs commented on Puckett's post, spreading an erroneous talking point that LGBTQ people prey on children in pedophilic or otherwise predatory posted the comment on June 7. The next day, CharlieIntel pointed out that the Nickmercs Operator bundle disappeared from the Modern Warfare II and Warzone stores without any explanation. The official Call of Duty account responded to clear up any confusion."Due to recent events, we have removed the 'Nickmercs Operator' bundle from the Modern Warfare II and Warzone store. We are focused on celebrating Pride with our employees and our community," the company to recent events, we have removed the 'NICKMERCS Operator' bundle from the Modern Warfare II and Warzone store. We are focused on celebrating PRIDE with our employees and our community. ā Call of Duty CallofDuty June 9, 2023 Nickmercs didn't follow up on Twitter. However, PC Gamer reported that he denied having anti-LGBTQ beliefs on stream and said he wouldn't be apologizing for his of Nick's friends and fans uninstalled their Call of Duty games in protest, saying that they wouldn't play them again until Activision reinstated the Nickmercs bundle and apologized. Others pointed out the problematic views expressed in Nick's tweet and voiced their disappointment in him. The products discussed here were independently chosen by our editors. TimetheTatmanActivision Itās the saga that just wonāt end. More and more high profile content creators continue to weigh in on the recent Nickmercs controversy, where the streamer had Activision remove his Call of Duty Operator skin from sale in the wake of anti-LGBTQ comments he made this week. First, Dr Disrespect said he was quitting the game again unless Activision apologized and restored the skin. Now, Nickās friend and fellow creator TimtheTatman is publicly asking for Call of Duty to remove his own Operator skin āin support of his friend.ā Before this, Tim went on video to address Nickās comments, saying he spoke with him, but the video didnāt really say all that much. Now, itās clear heās thrown in behind Nick to the point where heās asking Activision to stop selling his own skin, no doubt a financial hit for him to some extent. I saw this retweeted by Ninja, and itās become pretty clear where the other streamers in Nickās orbit stand. At the time of this writing, Call of Duty hasnāt responded to Timās request. Again, itās hard to know exactly the ins and outs of how these creator Operator contracts work when it comes to their real-life likeness. In Nickās case, there is likely a clause that could allow for its removal in a situation like this. For Timās, can he justā¦walk away from it arbitrarily? Activision spent time and money making that skin in the first place, after all. Perhaps they never considered someone would ask for their skin not to be sold. Iām very curious to see what they do here. Update Call of Duty has indeed removed Timās skin. Hereās their statement āAt Timās request, we have removed the TimTheTatman operator bundle from the Modern Warfare II and the Warzone store." This continues to be a wild story because Nick is the most-watched Warzone streamer as of late by quite a wide margin. Thatās what led to him getting his own skin alongside Tim, as they picked high profile, recognizable, Call of Duty-associated creators. Again, Nick has not been banned from the game, nor has he lost the ability to stream it, itās just about the skin, though this has brought a national culture war front and center in the gaming community. For now, the millions of fans of these streamers, many of them kids, are watching Nick not apologize for his comments and his big-name friends line up behind him. Nickās statement to āLeave the little kids alone,ā posted on a video showing violence against LGBTQ supporters, is an extension of a specific Republican talking point regarding the supposed āgroomingā of minors through the idea of teaching acceptance of LGBTQ children and adults. Conversely, LGBTQ supporters are finding themselves suddenly siding with Activision, of all companies, which has not had a sterling record on this front previously and has probably been the single biggest glorifier of the military industrial complex of the last two decades in entertainment media. Strange times. Weāll see what Activision does with Timās request. Stay tuned for updates. Follow me on Twitter, YouTube, Facebook and Instagram.
